Mmmm! which way is the slot in bass assasins suposed to face when rigging...up or down

i've tried rigging the 5" swimbait weedless on a 5/0 wide gap hook. i've tried it on spinning and baitcasting equipment. The thing swims on its side and rolls. i've emailed about it over a week ago and got nothing. I've tried a sivel and the thing won't "swim.
I rigged it slot side down, paddle down. The way this thing rolls, I don't think it matters.
